Description from artist regarding their vision of Peace:
Strangers pass each other by easily. But I've noticed that when I'm out walking with my dog Angel, people tend to pause and connect, with a smile or words. The same thing happens when I'm out driving my old VW. I think this is brought about by a comfort people have when they recognize a common source of joy--in this case, a happy beautiful dog or a cute classic car My husband and I often joke that world peace could be achieved by sending golden retrievers all over the world. Put them in old VW's and watch what happens. In truth, this image is a metaphor for recognizing the joys that we have in common--the emotions that make us realize we are all connected.
The reflection on the car shows children in South Sudan, from a photo taken by Dr. Ken Waxman while serving with Doctors Without Borders.
